I first applied to Google Adsense back in 2010. Since that time, I have applied and gotten approved many times for related business entities and helped others set up their own Google Adsense accounts. Each time, my applications have been approved to start using the Google Adsense program, so I feel like I can offer some solid advice on how to apply for Google Adsense and get approved.

Let’s take a look at the steps you’ll need to take to get that Google Adsense aproval, as well as some other alternatives you might consider if you already get lots of traffic.
To be honest, its shocking to hear how many people get declined from Google Adsense when they apply. I’ve received many emails from readers saying that their applications were declined. I’ve read complaints on forums or comments about the difficulty of getting approved with Google. There are quite a few things that people miss when they apply, like privacy policies, contact pages, or just having a decent website in general.
I personally have never experienced going through a rejection, but I’ve also been very careful when I apply. Below you will find the process I have used to apply and get approved to Google Adsense on two different occasions.

In a nutshell, there are step by step to applying and getting approved to the Adsense display ad network. You’ll want to follow each of these steps for Adsense approval. Please note, these same tips also apply to getting a Blogger Adsense approval.
GOOGLE ADSENSE REQUIREMENTS
Google wants to know that you have a valuable resource! So, in order to increase your chances of approval, you need to create original, articulate, and useful content! You should never aim to just throw up some spammy content that’s not useful. This will just irritate readers and your site won’t rank as well in search engines.
This should go without saying for any website or blogger blog; however, I can guarantee you that people have applied to Google Adsense with autoblogs, or copied articles from EzineArticles.com or other websites. Then they wonder why they didn’t get approved.
You want to make sure your content is extremely valuable so that you can get an Adsense approval. But this is also important because search engines only rank “worthy” content. Your content will get the viewers it deserves. If it’s no good, don’t expect a lot of Google love.
In addition, you are more likely to get approved if you have a great looking theme or site. I recommend using a premium theme (if using WordPress) if possible. Overall, make sure that your site is fully developed with content, logo, layout changes BEFORE you submit the site to Google.

HOW TO APPLY FOR GOOGLE ADSENSE

By closely following the next five steps, you will be well on your way to your goal. And you’ll be building revenue in no time. Steer clear of the pitfalls, which are discussed throughout these steps and you can’t go wrong.

1. Create a Dynamic Site
Your site is the best way for Google to know that your resource is valuable. Do not waste your time building a site that is boring, old or outdated. And do not copy content from anywhere else.
That said, you need to create original content! Be dynamic and creative. Create a site that people want to visit. You want an attractive, well-branded site that will build its own traffic and lead to lots of clicks.
Content that isn’t useful is a good way to almost guarantee your denial. So, if you are looking for how to get approved for AdSense and you want to be successful, start with your own site and make it clean, individualized and useful for consumers. This is an easy step in the process for AdSense approval but it is also quite crucial. There are a couple of things to keep in mind when building your creative site. First, the content. If you use spammy content, your site isn’t going to fair well in search engines.
So, create content people actually want to read and make your site as dynamic as possible. While the end goal here is AdSense approval, you also want your site to be ranked well with search engines.
Other ways to make your site look and feel authentic and unique include using an attractive, high-quality theme and having a designed logo. A custom logo doesn’t have to be expensive but it does bring your site to an entirely different level. Your site will look more like the real deal with a logo and it doesn’t have to break the bank to get one.
One of the key notes about your site is that it should look its absolute best before you submit it to Google. Don’t leave any loose ends and don’t wait for a denial before you realize your mistakes when it comes to content and appearance. And remember, you can’t apply using a site that has previously been used for Google AdSense.
2. Apply to Google AdSense Online
You can apply online to Google Adsense right here. Here you will supply your website URL, Individual name or Business Entity, contact name (you if applying for yourself; could be someone different if you are applying as a business entity), mailing address, phone number, email address, and perhaps one other basic bit of information. You are not required to submit your TIN or bank account information at this stage yet. This will happen after you get approved.
Make sure to give accurate phone and physical address information. You will be REQUIRED to verify your phone number and they will mail you a PIN to the physical address you supplied. However, this does not occur until step 4.
The online application itself only takes a few minutes to fill out.
3. Achieve Temporary Approval
So, how long does the AdSense review take? Not long at all! You can expect to be approved in just 24 to 48 hours. And if you follow this guide, you aren’t likely to encounter any issues in getting approved.
There is more work to be done in the beginning stages but once you are on your way, the approval process goes by quite quickly. And by following these steps, you’ll likely be approved with no issue.
When 24 to 48 hours rolls around, you should receive an email from Google with your approval. That email will also highlight the rest of the approval process. When you receive that preliminary approval, you are basically temporarily approved pending the last verification steps.
What Does Temporarily Approved Actually Mean?
Basically, temporary approval means quite a bit. Essentially, this means that you can now start placing ads on your site. It also means you can start seeing some revenue. This temporary status is a kind of checks and balances on Google’s part.
There needs to be a double check that you aren’t creating your own traffic or clicking on your own ads. Don’t make any questionable moves and you should be good to go. Do not click your own ads ever and don’t create fake traffic.
These are huge pitfalls that could get you denied. That can’t be stressed enough.
At this stage, you can even go ahead and put AdSense ads on your site. You need to use the code that Google gave you in your dashboard. And even better, you can also add the Google AdSense code to any and all of your other websites, if you have any.
The great news here is that you don’t have to keep applying for each one of your sites. You can just put AdSense ads on each of them once you’ve been approved.
That said, it is good rule of thumb to create new ad units and even use different color schemes for every ad on all of your different sites. This is just a matter of basic branding and marketing.
You can put your ads anywhere on your site. Use best practices and find the best location for your site. You want to create traffic and obviously facilitate clicks. You want them mixed in with your content but you also want them front and center. Attract your visitors and entice them to click
1. Google AdSense Verified
However, before you get paid, you need to verify a few things. First, Google will send you a PIN verification in the mail. This will come after a week to 10 days usually.
There is no rush, but at some point you will need to verify your bank account and submit your tax information. The bank account must be in the same name that you applied with. (So, if you applied with your business entity, the bank account must be for the business entity).
To get paid by ACH (the best way), you need to supply your bank account number and routing number. Then Google will do a test deposit of a few cents. You will then input this amount in your Google Adsense account to finish the verification. Then you can start getting paid monthly!
You will also need to supply your TIN number and complete the necessary tax documents (this is all handled online by Google and only takes a couple of minutes).
If you haven’t previously verified your phone number, you will need to do so. Google will place a test call with an automated code to you. Input the code, and you are good to go!
2. AdSense Program policies and Compliance
It will feel great to finally be AdSense approved but you want to ensure that you stay in good standing. This essentially means making good choices with how you handle your AdSense code.
Do not click on your own ads. Don’t ask anyone else to click on your ads, either. Both could potentially cause your AdSense account to be shut down.
There is no shortcut here. Just stay in compliance and don’t drive your own traffic or click on your own ads. If you do, you can easily be shutdown. It has happened to others before and you won’t be any exception.
The easiest way to ensure compliance is to follow all of the Google AdSense guidelines. This just shows you are doing your due diligence.
Google Adsense Rejection
If your application is denied, you can absolutely re-apply. That said, you first need to determine why you were denied, which Google is notorious for leaving out. You should follow these steps to re-apply:
1. Determine why you were rejected.
You need to first figure out what went wrong. Your website may have been too new. If your site wasn’t yet 6 months old, this is likely the reason for your denial.
That said, there truly are countless reasons why you could have been denied. They range from poor content to violations in terms of service to copyright infringement. You need to uncover the reason for your denial to move on in the re-application process.
2. Fix the issue and try again.
Once you’ve identified the problem, you need to simply fix the issue and then you can re-apply. It is best to wait a few months and ensure you’ve properly fixed your issues. Then, simply follow the steps above and try again.
How to Make Money With Google Adsense
AD RPM vs Page RPM
If you are looking for what differentiates Ad RPM vs. Page RPM, you have come to the right place. These are valuable metrics that publishers use to analyze their ad performance. However, often, publishers are confused and wonder which of these metrics should be their focus. Let’s first quickly determine how each one is calculated.
Ad RPM or the ad revenue per one thousand impressions, is calculated by dividing your estimated revenue by ad impressions and then multiplying by 1000. See formula below:
Ad RPM = (Estimated earnings / Ad impressions) * 1,000
Page RPM is the rate that the advertiser has to pay for every 1,000 ad impressions viewed per page. It is calculated by dividing your estimated revenue by the number of page views you received and then multiplying by 1,000.
Page RPM = ( Revenue / Number of page views) x 1,000
While these two metrics are quite similar, there is a substantial difference.
Ad RPM tells the publisher the cost that the advertiser will have to pay for every 1,000 ad impressions served on a website, while Page RPM metric helps publishers understand the performance of their ads on a page level.
Page RPM demonstrates the rate that publishers are paid for ad impressions on their web pages and allows them to identify low and high earning pages and strategize how to improve their performance. By using this metric, you can evaluate the performance of multiple pages on your website.
So, the next question is, what is a good RPM?
While this is an excellent question to ask, there is, unfortunately, no generic answer to this question. Several factors determine your page RPM. Here are some to keep in mind:

Higher Page RPM But Lower AD RPM
One issue that we frequently see with publishers who hadn’t optimized their ad stacks is that upon optimizing their ad stack, their page RPM increases while their ad RPM decreases. Why does this happen? One of the most common scenarios is that publishers with unoptimized systems often have substantial unfilled impressions. Most ad reporting technologies, including Google Ad Manager, do not report these impressions as $0. Instead, they’re not counted at all. So if a publisher has a site with 70% fill at $0.40 ad RPM, we will frequently crank that up to 95%+ fill. If the additional filled impressions average less than $0.40 ad RPM, then the overall ad RPM will fall, even though the site is making more money overall. This is why although ad RPM is useful in ad optimization, it’s usually not a primary KPI for ad optimization.
In most cases, session RPM is the primary KPI for ad optimization. This is because some ad technologies can be so abusive that they reduce the averages pageviews per session, reducing overall session RPM.
These steps have proven successful in getting AdSense approval time and again. And if you want to drive revenue, you obviously want and need to be AdSense approved. That said, follow these steps carefully and you’ll be on your way.

There are a few key mistakes that can lead to getting denied and they are essentially the opposite of the steps highlighted here.
Do not use old content. Be unique and build a legitimate site. Don’t copy and don’t regurgitate old, outdated information or graphics.
Do not click your own ads! And don’t fabricate traffic. Don’t have others click your ads either. Using old content and clicking on your ads are surefire ways to get denied. Follow the five steps highlighted here and you are surely on your way to getting AdSense approved.
